Welcome to The Scandinavian
SEGAF and The Scandinavian have the great pleasure to welcome you to participate in the Danish Senior Open Championship 2019 by Steen Tinning. We look forward to welcome you at the marvellous 18-hole international championship course placed here in Farum.
Steen Tinning is the protector of SEGAF and we are very happy that we were allowed to use Steen Tinnings name for this tournament. Steen Tinning is a big inspiration for the Senior Amateur players in Denmark and SEGAF is very pleased that Steen providse advice and guidance for the Danish European Senior Teams.
Steen Tinning has always been a very dedicated golfer and he has among other things fought his way back to the European Senior Tour, after he had to withdrew his membership of The European Tour at the end of 2003, because of lower back complications. Thanks to very dedicated back and Ironman training, he is now in the shape of his life and have done 4 Ironman competitions and was 100% fit for golf tournaments, which resulted in 2 victories in 2013, a win and a 2nd place in 2014 and a win in 2015.
The Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course Architects preserved the natural beauty of the 200 hectares (around 500 acres) of surrounding forest nature and wildlife. The bent grass greens are single-cut to increase speed and give a smooth roll.A carefully selected mixture of earth, sand and compost are spread around the tees, greens and fairways to create the perfect foundation. The courses can absorb up to 100 millimeters of rain per hour and still be playable. What’s more, the water is recycled in the lakes and used to irrigate the course. The New Course demands accuracy from the tees, but the long hitter can really test his skills on some of the holes.
